Khao Lak Summer Season 2020 – Khao Lak is a place many people have never even heard of. However, if you are looking for the best scuba diving and snorkeling, anywhere in the country, then do a search and Khao Lak and the Similan Islands will come up time and time again.
The low season or “Summer Season” in Khao Lak is very quiet as the Similans & Surin islands are closed, the weather and seas can prove very difficult in the months of May through to October.
Khao Lak is still open and serves tourists all year through.

Tours to Khao Sok National Park
Khao Lak sits on the edge of a National park (Khao Sok) which is one of the oldest ecosystems, not just in Thailand, in the entire world. Khao Sok National Park, in fact, is even better enjoyed during the low season (or green season as it’s sometimes called) because of the rains which increase the water levels, bringing much needed nourishment to life, and filling the rivers and lakes, after the long dry season.
Khao Sok is located on the mainland between Khao Lak, Phuket Island and Krabi, which are some of the most popular tourist destinations in Southern Thailand.
Here you can find and enjoy very close and personal elephant experiences or why not enjoy trekking through the jungle on foot (take a rain coat and drinking water). There are some amazing sightseeing adventures which can be taken on a kayak down the river; you can join a four wheel drive safari adventure.

There is a fantastic lake named Cheow Larn which is bang in the middle of the park, here you can really get back to nature. There is some very rustic accommodation available, you can stay in one of the bungalow raft houses, which are actually on the lake itself or rent a tent for the night.
Phangna bay is very close to Khaolak. Here you can find the legendary James Bond Island where The Man with the Golden Gun was filmed back in the seventies; this is one of the most popular tours on the list and a must to see.

All in all Khao Lak in the low season conjures up all sorts of surprises, and another plus is that most of the prices will drop down so many bargains, not only for accommodation, can be had.
